Our history
In the fall of 1944, a man named Jean-Marie Lemay bought an old sawmill. He dismantled it and transported it piece by piece by train to the south-east of the village of Saint-Edouard. In April 1945 the first log was cut at a cost of three cents a board. The mill runs on a diesel engine.
It was in December 1977 that the first Lauzé, Anselme by his first name, acquired the sawmill and it was in the 1980s that he converted it to electricity.
Then Donald Lauzé takes over. Slowly the company collaborates in the development of the municipality by hiring people from its environment.
Today, after more than 40 years, the third generation, Denis and Daniel, bring other development strategies by making various improvements, either;
- the construction of a building dedicated to processing in 1996,
- the start of coating production in 2000,
- the construction of a chip dumpster in 2010,
- the installation of a dryer and the marketing of our exterior/interior coatings with or without stain in 2014.
