The municipality of Saint-Honoré was officially founded on June 11, 1913. From a simple handful of colonizers clearing land and woods, Saint-Honoré slowly developed to become what it is today: a young and vigorous municipality. . In 1930, a new geographical delimitation caused Saint-Honoré to lose some 700 souls to the benefit of the new parish of Saint-David-de-Falardeau. Saint-Honoré diversifies its activities from the Second World War with the construction of its airport in 1942 and in 1974, we notice a considerable increase in the population with the beginnings of the Niobec Mine, one of the few underground Niobium mines in the world. .
In 2002, part of the territory of the municipality of Canton Tremblay was annexed with the municipality of Saint-Honoré which had the effect of increasing our area and our population which now stands at 6016 inhabitants (as of Dec. 31, 2017) . In 2015, the municipality of Saint-Honoré officially becomes "City". Today, Saint-Honoré stands out for its dynamism and the solidarity of its citizens.
