It was in February 1994 that Mr. Raymond Ouellet invited to his offices, following recommendations from people connected with the towing industry, five leaders of towing companies, convinced that concrete action must be taken to help the repair industry, which currently has no effective group to rely on to defend its interests, by creating an association that will be the voice of repair business owners in Quebec. The six founding members then invest one hundred dollars ($100.00) each and propose Mr. Raymond Ouellet as president of this new association thus created.
Following this first meeting, Messrs. Bourck, Burstall, Landry, Dionne and Bazinet are convinced that Mr. Ouellet has the temperament and the determination to carry out this major project: founding a professional association aimed at having the various levels of government recognize the professionalism of the towing industry.
