The MRC of Mékinac began its migration to geomatics with the purchase of ArcInfo and ArcView software and digital data from the BDTQ (Quebec topographic database) and the BDTA (topographic and administrative database) from the Ministčre des Natural Resources of Quebec. Since that time, the geomatics service has evolved a great deal. The software used is now ArcGis and a wealth of digital data relating to different themes is now available (agriculture, cadastre, wildlife, forest, hydrography, fires, infrastructure, mines, protection, trails, urban planning, etc.).
