The territory of the MRC de Papineau is located in the southeast of the Outaouais region, 120 kilometers from downtown Montreal, 45 kilometers from Gatineau, 50 kilometers from downtown Ottawa and 35 kilometers from Mont -Trembling. This regional county municipality (RCM) brings together 24 municipalities and covers an area of 3,320 km2. It is nicknamed the “country of green or blue gold”, in order to describe its bucolic and peaceful setting dotted with picturesque villages, resort areas and agricultural landscapes. Today, it is distinguished by the omnipresence of vast natural spaces, the increased presence of water and the close combination of residential, tourist, agricultural and forestry vocations.
