Most of the territory of the City of La Tuque is a forest territory that was called before the advent of municipal mergers, unorganized territories (TNO). Today it is the forest lands of La Tuque.
This majestic portion of our territory includes a few places inhabited year-round, more than 4,100 cabins linked to vacation leases on public land, 64 outfitters and nine controlled harvesting zones (ZECS).
This vast territory is accessed by a network of 30,000 km of forest roads developed by the forest industry. There are three main forest axes in La Tuque, namely roads R-0403 (route 1), R-0450 (route 10) and R-0461 (route 25).
This territory includes several sectors of La Tuque: Rivière-aux-Rats, Carignan (Lac-à-Beauce), La Croche, Casey, Parent, Base Radar and Clova. There are also two Atikamekw Aboriginal communities: Wemotaci and Opitciwan.
