In 1986, the parish of Saint-Charles-Borromée changed its status to that of a municipality.
The Charlois population almost tripled from 1961 to 2002. Now made up of more than 14,000 inhabitants, the City is recognized as an easy-going living environment for families with great accessibility to employment in the region. Appreciated for its dynamism, Saint-Charles-Borromée now has a residential character.
