In its early days, the village of Le Goulet bore the name "New Jerusalem Settlement". Subsequently, the name was changed to Shippigan Gully, to become Shippegan Gully and finally, the name of Le Goulet was assigned to it.
Le Goulet also obtained the status of Marie-Médiatrice parish in 1961 and became a village on May 12, 1986.
As for the Le Goulet community hall, it was built on August 22, 1980 by the first shovelful of earth by Mr. Jean Gauvin.
The first families to settle in Le Goulet were the Mallets and the Roussels. Subsequently, the Elward, Chiasson, Goupil, Plantain and Mailloux families were added to this number. But most of the territories belonged long before to the natives.
