The City of Ste. Anne is a bilingual community located 50 km east of Winnipeg. The Ste. Anne Library was established in January 1990. Its beginnings sprung up in two small rooms in the vacant Gray Nuns convent on December 2, 1990. When the convent had to be demolished, a house was purchased at 16 rue de l'Eglise to build the library. The new library opened in October 1994, and major renovations were immediately undertaken. Since 1995 our library has better met the needs of a public library with its 1,680 square feet of additional space. In the fall of 2006 renovations were carried out on the original house to add functional spaces to the library, and to make better use of office, warehouse and meeting room spaces.

The bilingual collection is now made up of more than 24,000 items, with an annual circulation of more than 16,500 items: books, magazines, video cassettes, DVDs and CDs, for children, teenagers and adults. As the number of members increases every year, the Ste. Anne Library has increased its opening hours to better meet the needs of the public.
